Outing Club Advisor - Chad Kirkpatrick
The Orono Middle School Outing Club is a three season extra-curricular club that all students at OMS can participate in. Students have the option of choosing any or all of the three sessions offered throughout the year. The outings include a day hike in the fall, a downhill skiing/snowboarding excursion in the winter, and a wilderness camping/whitewater rafting and kayaking trip in the spring. All trips are free of charge, except for the spring trip. Prior to each outing, students attend after school meetings to gather information needed to participate safely on the trip. These meetings are scheduled around athletic events and other co-curricular activities when possible. Attendance at all meetings during the session is mandatory to attend, unless other arrangements are made.
